CLIENT SERVICES

SMC offer a full Cadet Management package to our clients which includes the day-to-day management of Cadets throughout the training programme, the processing and administrating of Cadet payroll and government funding, and coordinating all sea going requirements that our clients have. This allows for a consolidated package to make the planning and placement of Cadet’s onboard vessels as smooth as possible. Our Cadet management team provide our clients with updates on Cadet’s progress including their readiness to proceed to sea.

SMC are flexible and will tailor all packages to our clients’ needs to ensure all requirements are met, there is no one size fits all package as we appreciate that all companies are different and therefore so are their requirements.

We believe our dedicated experienced team offer our Cadets with the support and guidance that is needed to succeed within their chosen capacity and hold the necessary skills and training to become the next generation of Qualified Officer’s.

Recruitment & Selection
SMC will recruit Cadets as per a companies requirements. We manage all aspects of the applications and selection to meet your needs. Clients can also be involved in this stage by holding interviews or having the final selection.
Finance
SMC will maintain accounts relating to all costs incurred for a Cadets training. We will also process Cadets expenses as well as paying the Cadets monthly Training Allowance.
SMarT Funding
SMC are MCA approved Training Provider, this means we can administrate all SMarT claims on our clients behalf. This ensure you can take full advantage of the funding available to develop and train UK Cadets.
Tonnage Tax
SMC can provide guidance and support on the triannual and annual returns relating to training requirement of UK Tonnage Tax.
Travel & Berthing
SMC are able to arrange travel for Cadets to join and leave vessels on behalf of the client. We can also assist in the management and allocation of berths to ensure Cadets sea time is fulfilled.
Visa's & Documentation
SMC can arrange for all required documents for Cadets going to sea including, US Visas, UK discharge books, any additional STCW courses or OPITO courses like HUET.
